School Bus Monitor/Attendant Course

(10 Hours)

A 10 hour course all school bus monitor/attendants need to complete within their first year of employment with a bus company, that covers their basic duties and responsibilities.

Fall/Spring Refresher Training

A bi-annual, two-hour minimum course, given to in-service school bus drivers and monitors/attendants which covers various refresher topics on school bus safety.

Safety Services (CPR/FA/AED)

This a a certification course that covers basic life saving skills and knowledge to aid potential life threatiening emergencies on the school bus.

Child Passenger Safety Restraint Systems for School Buses Training

This training provides basic knowledge and skills to secure a student who needs to be transported in a car seat on the school bus. Participants will practice how to secure various car seats specificly designed for school buses.

Consulting Services

School Bus Safety City Inc. provides a variety of options to ensure school bus contractors are in compliance with federal, state, and local agencies. Our staff has expertise in the area related to Article 19-A File Maintenance and audits, drivers and attendants pre-employment and post-employment training required by state and local districts, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse registration, post-accident training and investigation. In addition, we offer specialized training to meet the needs of your operation.

School Bus Driver Basic Course (30 Hours)

A 30 hour course all school bus drivers need to complete during the first year of employment with a bus company, which covers basic instruction of duties, responsibilities and school bus safety practices .

Physical Performance Test (PPT)

Physical Performance Test measures the drivers and attendants/monitors abilities to help students evacuate and/or move an incapacitated students in a school bus emergency.

Wheelchair Securement Training

This training provides knowledge and skills to secure and transport students safely on the school bus. Participants will learn and practice how to enter and exit passengers, how to secure different types of wheelchairs with different types of securements devices, and how to secure passengers with a three-points lap-shoulder system. In addition, students learn sensitivity techniques to use when transporting passengers.

Pre-service Training 

Prior to transporting students, each school bus driver and monitor/attendant shall receive instruction on school bus safety practices, child management techniques, proper techniques for assisting children to safely embark, sensitivity training, and techniques to enter and exit students from the school bus.
